Tatami is the best way to master your company's email deliverability. You can get set up in under 10 minutes.

Tatami is the tool you need to master email deliverability. Follow these steps to get Tatami set up and start monitoring in under 10 minutes.

1. Create a project

Projects let you organize monitoring by product, brand, or environment. For the majority of users, you will only need ONE project as you can monitor multiple MTAs/email services from a single project.

Go to Teams Then choose a team → Projects → New

2. Create a source (or several)

A source is an email service that you want to monitor such as Postmark, SendGrid, SES, etc. Tatami maps data from these sources and builds dashboards from the data. Add a source under your project to connect where events will be ingested.

From the project page: Sources → New

3. Connect platform (SendGrid, SES, etc.) to Tatami

Point your provider webhooks to Tatami or use our ingestion API. See the in-app instructions per provider. For cloud providers, this should take a few seconds with our step by step guides. For self-hosted providers, you may need to add a script and redeploy your MTA.

Popular options: SendGrid, Mailgun, SparkPost, Postmark, AWS SES, Resend, KumoMTA

3.5 [RECOMMENDED]: Configure custom headers

Tatami allows you to track some special headers, such as tenant_id, category, and more. This allows you to have more granular reporting and unlock some powerful features such as tenant specific alerting and blacklist monitoring. It also allows you to create tenant specific reports and dashboards which really enhances the value of the platform. We recommend following the guide for your provider to get started.

4. Add credit card (required)

Once you have everything connected, you can then add a credit card to your account. This will enable us to start tracking your usage and billing you accordingly. Nothing will be tracked until billing is set up.

Open Billing Go to Subscription and add payment method

5. Wait ~10 minutes to see data

Once webhooks are flowing and billing is active, events begin processing. The first dashboards should populate within 10 minutes to 1 hour. If we notice you're not seeing data, we will contact you to help troubleshoot.

Tip: Send a small test campaign to verify ingestion.

6. Set up default alerts

The team at Tatami have created a list of default alert rules that are fine tuned to alert you when there are issues with your deliverability. We recommend loading these rules and tuning them to your needs.

Alert Rules Teams → choose team → Alert Rules → Load Defaults

7. Connect Slack or Discord

As Tatami discovers issues on your network, it can send alerts and status updates to your team channels. This also includes a weekly summary of your network health.

Team Integrations Teams → choose team → Integrations

8. Add most important assets (domains and IPs) to the reputation checker

The reputation checker automatically monitors the performance of your domains and IPs across major networks (Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc.) and checks all major blacklists every 6 hours. This helps you quickly spot issues and maintain a strong sender reputation. We recommend adding your primary domains (sending domains, bounce domains, click tracking domains, etc.) and IPs to the reputation checker.

Reputation Checker Teams → choose team → Reputation Checker
